EAT.ME.DO is a fashion and jewelry brand based out of Melbourne, Australia.

We have been following Lara and her colorful EAT.ME.DO universe for a long while now.

She creates the kind of magical pieces that bring so much joy and inspiration! She is always so incredibly positive and motivating. We have been interested in learning more about her and the EAT.ME.DO brand for a while, so we were very excited when she agreed to connect with us for our Home of Passion Q&A segment.

We hope you enjoy getting to know more about Lara and her business as much as we have!

Q: How did you come to be the woman behind the beautiful and very colorful brand EAT.ME.DO?

A: I sort of just fell into creating EAT.ME.DO by accident. What started out as a hobby making jewelry and clothing turned into a little business shortly after I finished my university studies.

Q: How would you describe your brand?

A: I would definitely describe EAT.ME.DO as a very fun and quirky brand which really throws you right back to your favorite childhood snacks and makes you smile.

Q: How did you come up with the brand name?

A: The name came to be pretty quick actually. It was one of the first names I wrote down and it kind of just stuck. It is a combination of two of my favorite things: the Alice in Wonderland ‘eat me’ cookies, and the Beatles song, Love Me Do.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?

A: My inspiration comes from all over the place. It could be anything from a color palette or going to the supermarket. I find inspiration and joy in so many things, so there really isn’t a specific place I go to get inspired.

Q: Running your own business can be challenging, how do you keep motivated?

A: Yeah this is true, especially when you’re a one woman show. Staying motivated can be hard sometimes, especially when you have a home studio. However. I’m a pretty motivated individual, so I like setting myself daily tasks and creating a To Do List every morning to keep me on track.

Q: What are some ways you prioritize yourself and your mental health during busy or difficult times?

A: I generally like to try and dedicate at least 1 or 2 days each week where I try to not look at work related things at all. It can be a bit hard sometimes as I usually have to be connected on social media and tending to customer inquiries.

However, when things get a bit hectic I generally like to just get out of the house and switch off so I can come back refreshed. This generally means going for a drive, gardening, visiting friends, or playing with my dogs.

Q: What are you hoping EAT.ME.DO can bring to the fashion industry and the people who wear it?

A: I definitely want EAT.ME.DO to be a breath of fresh air to the often stagnate and boring fashion world. I feel like I have to bring a little fun and color to the seriousness of fashion. I like to think fashion should bring people joy when they wear it.

Who wouldn’t be happy in clothing covered in images of your favorite foods?

Q: Do you believe that your style and what you choose to wear impacts your mental health and overall well-being?

A: Oh yes, absolutely! Well it does for me anyways. Clothing is a form of personal expression. It’s an extension of your character and personality. It’s the visual representation of who you are or what you like. Nothing makes me happier than putting on a colourful outfit and getting out of the house.

Q: What are your future dreams & plans for EAT.ME.DO?

At the moment with everything happening in the world, it’s been difficult to imagine what the future holds for any projects I want to work on. However, I’d love to be able to continue to work on and expand the brand to spread the color and love that is the EAT.ME.DO world.

About author: Laura anna wainer

I grew up in Denmark and had a very privileged upbringing. We lived in a beautiful house, I went to a lovely school, had free healthcare and traveled a lot. However I never felt right, I always felt like I didn’t fit in, never able to find my place and always a bit anxious and sad.

When I was fourteen my parents got divorced, which came with a lot of new struggles. At the time though i was too young to understand and know how to deal with them. Instead i bottled it up and went into survival mode.

Fast forward to almost ten years later I was finally diagnosed with depression, PTSD and anxiety. I look forward to sharing my journey, my ups and downs and everything in between on Home of Passion. The world isn’t black and white and neither is my life.
